The Molecule Men – an aluminum sculpture in Berlin

If you are crossing the Oberbaumbruecke you have a beautiful view of the Molecule Men - in the middle of the river Spree. This project is just 30 meters above the river with a weight of about 45 tons.

The Berliners call this sculpture lovingly "The Nipper"

The sculpture Molucule Men consist of 3 highly exciting figurines. The American artist Jonathan Borofsky has created the sculpture and in May 1999 it was placed. The holes in the figures are intended to represent molecules that make up the world. The sculpture is primarily intended to symbolise human connection with each other.

The entire artwork was financed by Alliance Insurances, which has its headquarters in the neighboring Treptowers.
