The ISTAF at the Berlin Olympia stadium
On your marks, get set, go!
On the 01.09.2024 the 82th International Stadium Festival, ISTAF for short, takes place at the Berlin Olympia stadium. More than 180 athletes from 40 nations compete against each other in 15 disciplines. 16 world and european record times have been achieved since 1921, when the ISTAF first took place. A further record is set by the spectators: with more than 50.000 visitors every year, the International Stadium Festival is becoming the most popular athletics event worldwide.

A competition with tradition
The ISTAF was founded by the sport clubs: “Berlin Sport-Club", the "German Sport Club" and the "Sport Club Charlottenburg" in 1937. During this competition, the German athletes were able to compete with the international athletes and thus used this event to prepare better for world championships and the Olympic Games. From then on, the annual sports team grew steadily. Since 2010 the ISTAF is part of the IAAF World Challenge and athletic stars from all over the world like Yohan Blake, Maurice Green and the Harting brothers Robert and Christoph take part.
