A city break to Berlin is always worthwhile even just for a short visit, because with a City Circle bus tour you can discover all the top attractions of the capital in one day. In good weather, the yellow buses go with the top open, so you can enjoy the view even more and admire attractions like the Charlottenburg Palace, the Alexander Platz and the Brandenburg Gate. The hop on and hop off tours offer 20 stops. The busses run in 10 minutes intervals. You decide whether to get off or simply stay on for the entire two hour tour.
The sights on a city bus tour around Berlin
While on your hop on hop off tour choose the Lustgarten (pleasure garden) to explore one of the five famous museums on the UNESCO-listed museum island. Admire in the Pergamon Museum ancient monumental buildings, while the New Museum boasts with the world-famous bust of Nefertiti. The Berlin Cathedral, the largest religious building in the capital, is located on the Spree island and is open for visitors. It is home to the Hohenzollern crypt where until 1916 the members of the Prussian royal family found their resting place. The tour takes you from there to the Unter den Linden street through the Brandenburg Gate and to the Reichstag, which has a glass dome and also well worth a visit. The bus takes you along the 17th June street in the district of Tiergarten, where you pass the Victory Column, a national monument from the 19th century, whose crowning bronze sculpture Victoria is called by the Berlin residents "Gold Else". The Kurfuerstendamm invites you on a shopping spree, where you should go to the world famous department store KaDeWe .
